Tiwaz is a very strong rune that hints towards giving up something in order to lift another up. It gives you the power and energy to face the challenges ahead and helps provide you strength to move forwards in life.

Think of Tiwaz like an almost-aggressive nudge of encouragement or a really, really good cup of coffee or tea in the morning – Tiwaz kicks lack of motivation in the butt. You may be feeling a little stuck, facing all sorts of challenges and obstacles, or you may be letting your ego take control when you should be reigning it in.

Either way, Tiwaz is a good boost for any situation, and also lets you know when it is time to slow down and gain control again if you are moving too quickly.

In Rune Reading, the runes are separated into 3 sets of eight runes based off the energies that connect Earth and Heaven, and are represented by three gods: Tyr, Heimdall, and Freya. These gods have some fascinating stories that weave in and out of the more well-known stories of Norse gods such as Odin, Thor and Loki. Freya’s Aett – Women especially looked to Freya for assistance in matters of fertility and heart as well as one associated with death. This goddess would often go to battlefields and gather the bravest souls of the fallen in order to guide them to heaven where she would care for them and their loved ones for eternity. Her Aett represent love and relationships both platonic and amorous.
